Today I made french toast and thought I'd share the batter recipe. I don't think anyone actually needs it but I'm gonna do it anyways.
Ingredients:
- Sliced bread (Preferably brioche)
- Milk or milk replacement of your choice
- 1-3 eggs (depends on how much you're making)
- Ground cinnamon
- Brown sugar
- Pure vanilla extract
- Heavy whipping cream
- Powdered sugar
- Butter
Preparation:
- To make the batter combine 1 1/2 cup milk, eggs and vanilla extract in a shallow dish and whisk together
- Add 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar to your egg mixture until combined
- On a heated pan, grease it with butter and wait for it to melt and coat the pan
- While the butter is melting dip the bread slices one side at a time into the egg mixture (Don't let them soak or they won't cook all the way through)
- Once the bread is coated with the egg mixture put the slices on the pan ans wait about 5 minutes or until slightly browned on one side then flip.
- Continue this process until both sides of the bread become a golden brown then let them cool (or don't, it's up to you)
- For this recipe I also made homemade whipped cream by mixing together heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar and a splash of vanilla extract with the whisk attachment on my hand mixer
- And that's it, a pretty easy french toast recipe, I topped mine with whipped cream, maple syrup, more ground cinnamon and sliced bananas but you can really do whatever you want.
This french toast came out pretty good and took about 20 minutes for the whole process. I hope you try this recipe or share it with others. :)
